Humans are made in the 'image of God' is the basis for their belief in the importance and value of human life. This is seen in christian approaches to life, dealing with issues such as abortion, euthanasia and war. Christians response to taking life in war - pacifism and Just War. Neither allows a life to be taken out of revenge, conquest or economic interest. Being made in the image of God we are all valued by God.

Pacifism - belief that all wars and violence is unjustifiable, disputes should be resolved peacefully.
