Because youth are exempt from (mortgage, rent, bills) they usually have a lot of disposable income. Regardless of social class background they have the money and a short period of time in which they can enjoy being free from the commitments of adulthood.

Youth subculture was a magical “symbolic solution” and not a practical 2 minorities.
Subculture gave young people an identity and feelings of strength that they could not achieve through conforming to societies norms. Rebelling!
