Sampling
Asking a smaller, respresentative group of people in the hope of finding out the opinions of a larger group.

Random sampling
Everyone in the population has an equal chance of being involved in the survey.

Quota sampling
Used in opinion polling and market research. Interviewers are each given a quota of subjects of specified type.

A survery where a specific group of people will have the characteristics and will be interested in the good/service e.g anti wrinkle cream

Cluster sampling
The entire population is divded into groups or "clusters" and a random sample of all these clusters are selected. All observations in the chosen clusters are included in the sample.

Systematic sampling
This is the attempt to apply some form of scientific approach to the selection of the sample.

Convenience sampling
Anyone can be surveyed. Probably the most frequently used methods of choosing individuals to be used in data collection.
