Evaluate the usefulness of quota sampling as a method of sampling.

Advantages

results more suited to firms needs - those sampled are specifically chosen
useful where proportions of the population with various characteristics are known
the business may record customer details when sales are made to be used later

Disadvantages

can be expensive - business may have to employ market research firm to carry out sample
firm will find it time consuming - customers from each group must be found
samplers may be tempted to cut corners to speed up the process

Evaluation

A sampling method of gathering representative data from a group. Quota sampling requires that representatives are chosen out of a specific sub group.
