What is evangelism?
When Christians believe that they should try and encourage everyone to become members of their faith because of the commission Jesus gave to the disciples.

Many also believe that only Christianity has the complete truth about God 'the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelise all men' (Catechism of the Roman Catholics)

They are still worshipping God.

Missionary work - bringing the Christian message to people in their country and all over the world.

What have Christians done for hundreds of years? What do these believe it what their duty to do?
Travelled around the world as missionaries - these felt it was their duty as Christians to convert as many people as possible. They believed that it was the only by becoming a Christian that people had a chance of reaching Heaven when they died.

Give everyone the opportunity to follow the Christian faith in order to know God.

Yes, but while they are still concerned with spreading the Christian message, their main purpose is to help people in developing countries by following the example of Jesus

The movement that tries to unite different Christians.

Practising their faith.

Why do many denominations (mainly Protestant and Orthodox) do? Why?
Meet as members of the World Council of Churches in order to celebrate the fact that all confess the Lord Jesus Christ, according to the Holy Scriptures, as God and Saviour.

Many of the Asian and African Churches, which have demonstrated great courage in the face of persecution

Help members of different dominations come together to worship.

Talk about what Roger Schutz did from 1940 - 1942
1940 - he founded a religious community of monks in Taizé in France that sheltered Jewish refugees escaping Nazi Germany until 1942.

Talk about what Roger Schutz had to do when the Nazis occupied France.
He had to leave but returned at the end of the war, initially caring for German prisoners of war, practising the Christian belief of forgiveness and reconciliation.

It's a place of pilgrimage particularly for young people from all over the world and as an ecumenical community, works to break down barriers between Christian denominations.
