  • God as Creator 

  • 'In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth' - Found in the book of Genesis. Part of the creation story, which talks about how God made the world in six days, and rested on the seventh. In the second chapter of Genesis, God creates man, and tells him to look after the earth, putting him in charge of all creatures. This shows God, in relation to His creation, as being superior to him, and as being the sustainer of life. 

  • 'The Craftsman' - in Job chapter 38, God is described as being the designer who laid the foundations of the earth. This is called Anthropomorphism, this is when something that isn't human is given human characteristic, for example, saying God is a craftsman. This differs from Plato's form of good, which does not posses human qualities.

  •  God is in control - Isaiah 40: 22 - 24 shows God as the creator, with the ability turn all that is on this earth into nothing. "He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He bring princes to naught and reduces the ruler of this world to nothing"
