Keeping Healthy: Cholesterol and salt

1. salt and cholesterol levels play a huge part in maintaining the health of the body. Cholesterol is required to make cell membranes, and salt is required to maintain health of the blood and bone.

2. too much salt intake is a problem for lots of people in developed countries. they eat many times the amount of salt required, and this leads to disease of the blood, some organs and high blood pressure. about 30% of the UK population has this problem.

3. Too much cholesterol leads to heart disease, blocked blood vessels, obesity and it's partenering conditions, and high blood pressure. some cholesterol is needed to keep cells healthy, but when too much for the liver to handle enters the blood stream, it starts to build up in blood vessels and can cause all sorts of problems.
