Describe what is meant by ‘circuit training’. Using your knowledge of training zones and the principles of training, explain how circuit training can be used to improve performance in a rugby game.

Circuit training is a variety of physical exercise stations that can be adapted to train different component of fitness'.

Rugby contains both aerobic and anaerobic respiration, and so the stations in the circuit must contain exercises where the player is working both between 60-80% of their max heart rate and 80-90% of their max heart rate.
