Parasites

A parasite is an organism that lives in another organism, obtaining food from it. They are easily caught, but are also easy to treat. Expect for roundworms, they are harmless, but socially unacceptable. You should deal with them quickly so they don't multiply.

• Itchy red bite marks on scalp
• Grey/brown nits attatched to air
• White/shiny empty egg cases on hair

• Leave conditioner on hair and wet comb with dector comb
• Use chemical shampoo treatment
• Use 'electic' comb

• Mite 'burrows' are seen
• If scratch rash produces septic spots

• Direct skin to skin contact

• Treat all family with lotion from GP
• Throughly wash towls, bed linen and clothing
