What are the advantages of 'in home' childcare 

Childminders 

Child - less likelyhood of picking up infections such as tummy bugs and colds

- They are cared for in a homely environment 

- They will learn to share toys and adult time 

- They are with few other children so they get more one-to-one care

- They usually meet other children both at the childminders house and on visits to toddler groups

Parent  -  Childminders are registered, monitored and inspected by ofsted and the local authority 

- Most childminders are now qualified

- Childminders often become a family friend

- There is usually more flexibilty about hours

- Continuity of care may transfer to school too.
