   Positive: 

>Brings in money to the loval economy

>Creates jobs for the local area

Negative:

> A lot of the profit earned from tourism is kept by big tourist companies

Social

Positive:

>Lots of jobs mean young people are likely to stay in the area

>Improved infrastructure 

>Income from tourism can be used for local community projects.

Negative:

>Tourism jobs that are available are often badly paid

>Traffic congestion

>Some tourist behaviour can offend locals

Environmental

Positive:

>Income from tourism can be used to help fund environmental projects

Negative:

>Transporting tourists long distances pollutes a lot of carbon dioxide

>Tourism can increase litter

>Tourism can lead to destruction of habitats e.g: Sightseeing boats destroy coast.
