Sex Discrimination Act
Aim-End discrimination. Give all sexes the right. Protects people at marriage. Illegal to treat someone less favourably.

Aim-people will chronic illness receives long term care. Local authority expected to assess the care needs. Idea of creating mixed economy of care. Demographic reasons. political views about family responsibilites.

Aim- ensure people have statutory rights to leave & pay in connection with birth/adoption of children. Right to take reasonable time off. Right to parental leave after 1 year of service. Right to request flexible working.

Health and Safety at Work Act
Aim- Sets out general duties that employers have towards employees. Looks at risks and measures to reduce them. Carry out a risk assessment. Set up emergency procedures. Provide clear information and training to employees.
