Festivals: What are festivals?
A day or period of celebration for religious reasons.

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus. It is celebrated on the 25th of December and lasts for 12 days.

A moment of sudden realisation and is a feast in the end of Christmas.

Easter is the most important Christian festival because it celebrates the resurrection.

They remember the central teaching of their faith.

Orthodox Christians walk around the church with candles.

What the church does: What does the church do as a building?
It provides a location where Christians from the local community meet, worship,pray and socialise.

Mothers' and toddlers' groups or youth clubs.

What is a food bank?
Food banks are emergency food to help and support people in 'crisis'.

How do people get food from Food banks?
A care professional like a doctor or health visitor will issue the person with a voucher and give them three days of nutritionally balanced food.

They are focused on the key practises of helping those in need such as "love your neighbour".

What does agape mean?
selfless, unconditional and sacrificial love meaning that you reach out to your community and show love to all people.

What are street pastors?
Adult volunteers trained to patrol streets of cities and reassure areas that experience high crime, drugs, gangs and knives, they help.

What is the aim of street pastors?
Not to preach but to listen to people's problems, giving guidance and discouraging anti-social behaviour and to help and care for people in the local community.

"Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

What is mission?
The church has a mission to spread the news. This is known as the great commissions.

Estimates around 1.5 billion-2.5 billion. Mostly in South America, Africa and Asia. However less likely in the USA and Europe and not at all in the Middle East.

They organise events or speak to people they meet about Jesus.

To make disciples from all nations, not just new believers

When you preach in public or talk about your experiences aiming to accept Jesus into their lives.

What is Reconciliation and what happens?
It is the repairing of relationship with God and humans and is part of the seven sacraments known as "Penance and Reconciliation." It is the role of the church to bring humanity closer.

What happens in Persecution?
When they are forced to pay extra tax, not allowed to have good jobs.

They help develop their faith and strengthen their beliefs."If someone slaps you on the right cheek,turn to them the other cheek also."

"If one part suffers the other parts suffer with it," They support the the suffering as much as possible.

A set order and set pattern of worship.

Jesus helped the poor and that we should donate and give to poor.
