Drugs
Anti anxiety (benzodiazepines) slows down activity in the central nervous system. Beta blockers, lower levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline. Muscle relaxants, reduce motor tics. Stabilise levels of brain chemicals. Reduce pain. Fight infection.

Self-regulation of attention (distraction). Suspend normal stream of consciousness. Reach state of "thoughtful awareness". Repetition of sounds and images. Breathing exercises. Reduce stress/anxiety.

Promote positive changes. Stimulating atmosphere. Distraction. Modulation Room (clients with mental health illnesses). Clients are consulted and are part of the decision about what forms these spaces. Used in times of crisis as part of intervention.
