So, first off- what was aquae sulis? 

- aquae sulis was a temple to the goddess sulis/minerva, a mix of the native british goddess sulis and the roman goddess minerva.

it is in bath, and is on top of a mineral spring. the british originally worshipped the goddess there, and thought that the hot water from the spring could heal any illness. the romans caught onto this idea, and realised that it
