Religion and Equality:

Reconciliation means - coming to terms with and recognising what you have done, taking responsibility over your actions. Giving and receiving forgiveness for what you've done.

Two reasons why Christians might seek to forgive:

Christians might seek to forgive because of the example that Jesus set when on earth, another reason might be when Jesus forgave those who sought to hang him on the cross.

Christian Teachings on revenge:

In the Lords prayer it says that "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespasses against us." - this quote shows that Christians believe that if they forgive others for mistakes they have made, God will be forgiving of their sins/mistakes in return.

In the Bible it also says "Vengeance is mine said the Lord" (St Paul to Romans) - This quote shows that Christians believe that God should initiate revenge if someone has done something wrong, not another human being. In the Old Testament it says "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" Christians believe this means if somebody does something harmful towards you, you should do the same. NOT A GOOD QUOTE TO USE IN EXAM QUESTIONS ABOUT CHRISTIAN/CATHOLIC BELIEFS - Jesus did not preach this.
