EFFECTIVENESS

STRENGTH- Soomro et al (2008)- reviewed 17 studies of the use of SSRIS to treat OCD- found them to be more effective than placebo in reducing symptoms of OCD upto 3 months after treatment- more effcetive than placebo at reducing symptoms

STRENGTH-Kahn et al (1986) - assessed 250 paitents over 8 weeka- half given benzodiozapines and half placebo- tose given benziodiozapines improved significantly than placebo

WEAKNESS-most studies are obly 3-4 months long- little long term data exists- cannot be sure its effective.
