Open Fractures: When the bone is protruding through the skin. It is visable outside the body.

Closed Fractures: When the bone is broken but the skin is still intact. 

Transverse: Fractured across the bone

Oblique: The bone is broken at a slant but straight

Comminuted: Small fragments of bone are lieing in surrounding tissue near the broken bone.

Greenstick/ incomplete fracture: When the bone bends and cracks but dose not break into 2 peices.
