EPOS can assist the retailer by the ability to produce business performance reports. This can range from the profit margins to the top selling products and the quantity that has been sold in a selected amount of time. This helps retailers to know how their business is doing, such as the performance, and whether it met set objectives for example. This can lead to influence of marketing campaigns, such as applying discounts to less popular items at certain times in the year, or products they want to stop selling, such as Christmas decorations being reduced after Christmas to diminish stock.
