Locus of causality- what is being blamed?

• Internal- performer blames themselves
• External- performer blames other things outside themselves

Stability- is it changeable?

• Stable- isn't changeable
• Unstable- is changeable

High achievers tend to blame internal factors for success:

• Increases confidence
• Imcreases motivation
• Sense of pride
• Encourage approach behaviour- the performer is more likely to try again
