Health

complete state of physical, mentle and social wellbeing.

  • physical wellbeing - all body systems are working properly and you have no illness or injury
  • mentle wellbing - feel good about your self, emotions are under control
  • social wellbeing - Basic necessities of life, family, friends, food, a home, role in society.
  • specific fitness - The fitness required to take part in a sport at a high level.

Components of fitness

  • Strength - maximum muscular contraction eg. bodybuilding                                                   Test: 1.max rep test.                                                                                                              
  • Flexability - Range of movement at a joint.                                                                           Test 1.sit and reach                                                                                                                
  • local muscular endurance - ability of specific muscle to sustain exercise (football 90min)            
  • Body composition - Body make up, bone, muscle fat.                                                           Test - skinfold measurement.                                                                                                  
  • Cardio vascular endurance - Body ability to sustain exercise.                                             Test -1min sit up and press up

Components of skill related fitness.

Reacion time - The time it takes to react to a stimulus - test, the ruler drop.

Speed - The fastest rate at which a person can cover a distance.- Test, 30 metre sprint

Agility - ability to change direction quickly and still keep in control of your body - The illinois agility test

balence - Ability to keep the body stable. whether still moving or in a different shape by keeping the centre of gravity over the base - test, the stark stand.

power - strength and speed - test, standing long jump.

co-ordination - ability to use two or more body parts at the same. test - alternative ball throw
