When to use it
It is used to tell of events that have already happened, e.g. I spoke, it played.
How to form it
Er verbs
Take off the er and add é to the end of the verb, with the `avoir' form in front.
e.g. I liked = J'ai mangé
Ir verbs
Take off the r from the end of the verb, with the `avoir' form in front
e.g. I finished = J'ai fini
Er verbs
Take off the re and add u to the end of the verb, with the `avoir' form in front
e.g. I sold = J'ai vendu
Irregulars
Avoir = eu
Croire = cru
Devoir = dû
Dire = dit
Etre = été
Faire = fait
Prendre = pris
