Advantages

can have large, ecologically valid samples
easy to administer
can be developed in less time
easy to analyse data, tends to be quantitative

Disadvantages

social desirability
unclear/ambiguous questions
lack detail
ppts cannot expand on their answers
boredom - lead to inaccurate data

Evaluation

surveys are usually types of questionnaires distributed to a large number of people. They tend to mainly have closed questions but can have some more open questions.
