  • Cognitive Priming
    • Semantic Priming - You process a stimulus faster when you previously encountered a prime with a similar meaning.
    • Evaluation - STRENGTH, prevent obesity, advertising makes people eat more snacks, education can prevent STRENGTH, video games and aggression, students read scenario where someone was accidentally pushed and spilt their drink, playing violent videogames was more likely to interpret push as deliberate, associative priming. WEAKNESS, difficult to study, difficult to replicate, researchers replicate and find different results, not scientific.
    • Repetition Priming - When you encounter a prime you process a stimulus more quickly when you see/hear it again.
    • Associative Priming - The previous prime and the later stimulus are not the same semantically but paired together in everyday experience 'fish and chips.'
