The laws of libel
Prevent publication of false statements

Prevent the publication of anything deemed as "officail secret" by the government

Defence advisory notices
Prevents the press publishing information which the government feels could be used by the enemy e.g. military secrets

The race relations act
Forbid the publishing of opinions or views which could be seen to be against an ethnic or racial group

The obscene Publications act
Forbids the publications of anything nwhich the high court considers to be obscene or indecent to anyone that sees, hears or reads it, e.g. animal cruelty or sexual acts.

Contempt of court
Forbids the reporting of current ongoing court cases which could lead to a prejudice or unfair trial
