What is fairness?
Having the same opportunities and rights as other people, and a sense of being valued and loved for being the people we are E.g It is fair to share sweets equally between everyone

What is justice?
Freedom from oppression; when people treat each other without discrimination or prejudice E.g a prisoner being set free when they are innocent

What is unfairness?
When opportunities are taken away or prevented for some reason; when there is dishonesty and people are not valued E.g Ignoring human rights

What is prejudice?
Holding opinions that are formed beforehand without sufficient knowledge E.g Judging a person in a hoody to be a thief

What is discrimination?
Unfair treatment of one person or group, usually before of prejudice about race, age, religion or gender E.g Not hiring someone because of a disability

What is stereotyping?
An oversimplified standardised image or idea held by one person or group of another E.g All Muslims are terrorists

What is injustice?
Unfair or unjust treatment of somebody, or an example of this E.g Unequal access to medical care

Why do people prejudice and discriminate?
They dont understand the other point of view; lack of knowledge; fear about the future; learned from family or peers; anger from an event

Rosa Parks example of fighting justice?
Refused to give up her seat to white passenger, was arrested, 381 bus boycott, Supreme Court finally rule that segregation is unconstitutional

What do Christians believe about civil disobedience?
Showing concern and helping is a duty; failing to do so is failing God; God made everyone equal of value and importance; give money and support charities

What do Muslims believe about civil disobedience?
Allah is the creator of all mankind; Ummah are expected to care for each other; encouraged to show care and concern in voluntary or compulsory action; Sadaqah charity given out of kindness; Zakat

Discriminating against someone because of race and skin colour

Where racist ideas and actions are accepted as common practise and not condemned

Where a person is discriminated against because of being a woman or man

God created all equal whatever race, ability, or gender; Prejudice of any kind is unacceptable; 10 commandments give guidance on living in harmony

All people are equal though not the same; All people are important in their own right; The ummah crosses all boundaries

Men and women are seen to be equal in worth before God but not by duty; Many women are ordained as full priests or ministers

All religions encourage believers to speak out against injustice, they decided how to act by interpreting the teachings of their holy books

What is want?
A wish or longing for something that is craved but which being without would not actually bring hardship E.g the latest technology

A necessity, something that is a requirement for someone to live without hardship or poverty E.g food and water

What are rights?
What a person can expect to have; something you have by being a human being E.g the right to move

What are the Christian teachings on wealth?
Material wealth is not the most important thing; dont worry about money; true generosity involves sacrifice; dont rely on it for meaning; the way you make it is as important as what you do with it

What are the Islamic teachings on wealth?
A gift from Allah; not wrong to be wealthy, with more you can give more; not used to harm others; obliged to pay Zakat; good actions are encouraged

What is Christian Aid?
A charity organisation working in partnership with local organisations in over 60 countries in the Developing World

What are the main aims of Christian Aid?
Expose scandal of poverty; contribute to the eradication of poverty; challenge systems and processes that set the poor apart; inspired by the Gospel to bring news of a fulfilling life to the poor; educate others in the causes of poverty

What are the long and short term aid given by Christian Aid?
Help farming and the environment; give training and education; dig wells and irrigation systems; prepare people for self suffciency; give access to money through loans for trading and development
