What is Fatigue?
The extreme mental or physical tiredness brought on by extreme exertion of the body

What are the effects of fatigue?
Stop activity immediately, concentration levels decrease (make mistakes), skill levels decrease

Describe the steps of what happens when you breathe in
1.chest cavity changes shape and size, 2.diaphragm changes from a dome shape as it flattens and moves down, 3.intercostal muscles raise the ribs up and push out sternum, 4.this reduces pressure inside the chest cavity, 5.air is sucked into lungs

What is Gaseous Exchange and where does it take place?
Gaseous exchange is the process where oxygen is taken in from the air and exchanged for carbon dioxide in the alveoli (small air sacs in lungs)

What is Oxygen Debt?
Result of the muscles respiring anaerobically during vigorous exercise, as body runs out of oxygen, we call on glycogen stores in the body as an alternative energy supply. Glycogen converts into Glucose - builds up lactic acid.

What is Lactic acid?
A mild poison and waste product of anaerobic respiration

What is the definition of Cardiovascular Endurance?
The ability of the heart and lungs to continuously supply oxygen round the body in the bloodstream

What are the functions of the Cardiovascular system?
Transportation - the blood is able to carry oxygen, water and nutrients and removes the waste, Protection – antibodies (white blood cells) fight infection in the blood, Homeostasis – body temperature is regulated

What are the three types of strength?
Explosive - one short sharp, burst or movement Dynamic - required to support their own body wight over a prolonged period of time or against an object Static - applied to an immovable objecy

What is Physical Recreation?
Physical recreation is where you participate in something that gives you satisfaction derived from doing something well or for a reward

What are the 5 functions of the Skeletal System?
• Movement at joints • Support for muscles and vital organs • Shape for maintaining basic body structure • Protection of vital organs • Blood-cell production in the bone marrow
