What is oestrogen, where is it produced and what does it do?
Oestrogen is a hormone produced in the ovaries, it inhibits the production of FSH, stimulates the production of LH and stimulates the womb lining to develop to receive the egg.

What is FSH and where is it produced?
(Follicle stimulating hormone) FSH is made in the pituitary gland. IT causes the egg to mature and oestrogen to be produced.

What is LH?
(Luteinising hormone) LH is also made in the pituitary gland and it stimulates the mature egg to be released from the ovary (ovulation)

Temperature and water

What is a synapse and how are impulses transmitted across it?
A junction between two neurons (motor and sensory). Chemicals are transmitted across the gap.

What does a sensory neuron do?
Transmits the impulse to the CNS.
