Explain what a continous filament Fibre is?
A long textile raw materiel that can run the whole length of a whole yarn. All synthetic fibres including the natural fibre Silk are continuous filaments

Why is silk a continuous filament fibre?
Silk can be as long as a kilometre when it is taken out of a silk cocoon and so it cant be a staple fibre

Define the term 'Microfibres'
Microfibres are a combination of number of very fine fibres into one yarn of decitex or less. They are around 60 to 100 times finer than human hair. Common microfibres are manufactured from polyester, polyamide or acrylic

What can mircofibres be used for?
1. To produce blends of synthetic or natural fibres 2. they can be used in fabrics that have a variety of end-uses and appearances 3. smart & technical fabrics for active wear, sportswear, All weather wear and a range of industrial uses

Any 3 from: Tencel, Elastane (Lycra), Nylon, Kevlar, Nomax, Trogamide
