Transmigration in Indonesia

Location: Indonesia is located in the maritime south-east Asia.

Information: Indonesia is a collection of just over, 17,000 islands between the Indian and Pacific ocean. Indonesia has a population of 238 million making it the worlds 4th most populous.

Transmigration: From 1929 onwards the goverment provided transportation for people wishing to migrate to less populated islands. Peasants who lost their hmes due to development were also moved.
