Smoking and Health

There are approximately 1.1 billion smokers in the world today, smoking approximately 6000 billion cigarettes a day. When these people breathe they breathe approximately 4000 chemicals into their lungs.

If you are a non-smoker small hairs in your breathing system are constantly wafting mucas away from your lungs. The mucus traps dirt and unwanted bacteria and the hairs let you get rid of that.

If you smoke, each cigarette anaethetises these hairs, stopiing them from working and allowing mucus back down into your lungs. This means that bacteria gets down into your lungs and makes you more likely to get colds
