pyschologists apporach: bandura, ross and ross does the media lead to crime ?

reasearch published in the 1960s consisted of reashearchers showing pre schoolers a video of an adult playing with an inflatable doll. in the video the children watched as the adult sat on the doll, punched it in the nose, hit the doll on the head with a mallet and kicked it repeatedly. after watching the video the children where bnrought into a playroom with the same doll and lots of other toys. as predicted by the erasearchers the children who had watched the agressive video imitated what they saw. they beat the doll with a mallet and they punched and kicked it. whats was most suprising to the reasearchers was that the children found new and creative ways to beat up the doll and the researchers noticed that they played more agressivley with the other dolls. in others words the children did not just imitate the behavior shown to them. all researchers stated that " seeing agressive behaviour caused these kids to play more agressivley in general" ( bandura, ross& ross1963). another type of reaserch was conducted and this was where the split a group of children nto two seperate groups one who watched a films where the characters used guns and the other group watched a film without the use of guns after making the children watch the film they where given a box of toys to play with  consisting od nerf guns and other toys not gun related surley enought the children who atched the films with the guns agressively played with the guns themselves whereas the children who watched the film withou the gun violnce played with the other toys more. what the childrwen didnt know was that in one of the drawers was a actaul real life gun it wasnt loaded and was
