Health Psy: Key Issue- Practical (summary)

IS THE MEDIA A CAUSE OF DRUGS?

I looked at two articles- 'The glamorization of alcohol' and 'Stop promoting drugs'. I made a summary of these two articles.

• For the first article i concluded that the main reason for alcohols continued popularity is the effect it has on those who drink it. Todays advertisers want to sell us a 'lifestyle' based on an idealized image of what our lives will be like if we use their products eg alcohol. This substance abuse is encouraged by modern society when it shows young people glamorized images of alcohol consumption.
