Beethoven's Orchestra

Structure

The same structures used in the Classic period; Concertos, symphonies and sonatas using binary, ternary, theme and variations, minuets, and trios (see the Classic period of Orchestral Landmarks revision cards for details of these).

Orchestra

Percussion: Timpani/ Kettle Drums, Cymbols, Bass Drum and the Triangle.

Brass: French Horns, Trumpets and 3 Trombones (clearly, this is when music started getting good)

Woodwind: More Flutes, Clarinets and Oboes
