STM and LTM differ in terms of :
Duration - How long a memory lasts.
Capacity - How much can be held in the memory.
Encoding - Transferring information into code, creating s 'trace'.
The Short term memory has a limited capacity and a limited duration, whereas the Long tem memory has an unlimited capacity and is theoretically permanent.
