      • Participants put into 4 groups and participants had to put words back in the same order given. For the LTM they had a 20 minute distraction

      • LTM semantically similar 85% recall
      • STM acoustically dissimilar 55% recall
    • Conclusion
      • STM relies on the sounds of words more than the meaning
      • LTM relies on the meaning more than the sound
    • Criticisms
      • Highly influencial
      • May not repesent the complexity of memory - artificial
