PRE NATAL SLEEP
okal et al 1992 - Ultra sound scanning used to investigate sleep patterns in uborn babies of women who were 30 weeks pregnan; they measured the babies eye and baby movement. They found before 28 weeks it was hard to identify REM but at 32 weeks both REM/NREM was identifiable and betweek 28-31 weeks brain stem developed. No known link between neural systems and control of REM/NREM ultradian cycles.
