Data - how to collect it 

on a paper based or computer based system ( 2 different types of media) the suitability of each type will depend on the purpose of the data 

Paper based - pros - no training needed and you can have hard copies but it is expensive and hard to store

computer based - expensive but less space is needed for equipment and is easy to make alterations on and store as you can make back ups

hardware is physical  for example a mouse ,software is not - for example MS word
