Benefits of a computerised system:

• Takes up a lot less space- no need for filing cabinets
• Searching for records is very quick
• More thn one person can access the same data from their network PC at the same time
• The data stays within the computers memory- it wont get lost or misfiled
• Reports can be generated very quickly- often by an automated processing routine
