Clone towns lll
Name the last three towns/cities you have been to. Have they been similiar? Picture the high street. What shops did they have? McDonalds, HMV, Subway, New Look, Next, River Island, Lush....
A situation modern cities, not only in Britain, but around the world face - are clone towns. The clue is in the name: our high streets are becoming the same.
Why is this?
Long ago, high streets were composed of mostly independent stores. An 'independent' store is a unique store. This could be a local bakery, or a bookstore that is not the likes of Waterstones.
