PLANT AND ANIMAL CELLS -
- Animals and plants are formed from cells.
- they have some parts in common.
generalised animal cell -
cell membrame - controls what enters/leaves the cell (ie - oxygen, glucose, carbon dioxide)
nucleus - a structure that contains genes that control the activities of the cell.
cytoplasm - jelly like substance that fills the cell (loads of reactions happen here)
mitochondria - tiny structures respiration takes place. releasing energy for the cell processes.
ribosomes - (present in cytoplasm but not visible due to size). where the proteins are made.
A GENERALISED PLANT CELL HAS ALL OF THESE PLUSS A CELL WALL, CENTRAL VACUOLE AND CHLOROPLASTS.
