  • Meat and meat products, e.g. lard and suet
  • Dairy products, e.g. milk, butter, cheese and cream
  • Fish especially oily fish, e.g. tuna, salmon and sardines

  • Some fruits, e.g. avacado and olives
  • Nuts and pulses, e.g. peanuts and walnuts
  • Seeds, e.g. sesame and sunflower

Visible fats

Some fats are visible such as the fat on meat or solid fats such as butter.

Invisible fats

Some fats are invisible and form part of the product and cannot be seen, for example, in ready meals, chocolate, biscuits and burgers.
