1) They have no preferred attachment figure. An inability to interact and relate to others that is evident before the age of 5. They have had experience of severe neglect or frequent change of caregivers.

Reactive or inhibited: shy, withdrawn and unable to cope with social situations.
Dis-inhibited attachment: they are overly friendly and attention seeking.
