A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act 4, Scene 1, part 1

Scene 1

  • Titania and Bottom fall asleep togeather
  • Oberon and Puck enters and tells Puck how he got the indian boy from Titania
  • Oberon puts the love juice on Titanias eyes so she falls in love with Oberon again
  • Titania wakes up and thinks her love for Bottom was a dream
    • Oberon shows Titania where Bottom was
    • Titania freaks out, and Oberon tells Puck to take off Bottoms donkey head
  • Oberon, Titania, and the rest of the fairyes leave
  • Theseus, Hippolyta, Egeus, and Theseu's train enter
    • Theseus finds the four lovers on the ground near the woods
    • Egeus gets mad because Lycander and Hermia "could have stollen away!"
  • Theseus orders his men to wake to lovers with their horns
  • The lovers wake up and Lysander tells Theseus what he remembers had hapened
  • Egeus damands Theseus to execute Lysander
  • Demetreus stops Egeus and claims he is not in love with Hermia, but with Helena now
  • Theseus ignores Egeus' will and lets Demetrius and Helena, and Lysander and Hermia marry

Scene 1

  • The lovers, and Theseus' company goes back to Athens
  • Bottom wakes up, thinking he was still in the woods with the other workers, and tries to figure out what he had "dreamed"
    • Bottom thinks it's so good, he wants to make a song of it and sing it for Theseus' wedding
  • Bottom hurries back to Athens
