A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act 3, Scene 1

Scene 1

  • The mechanicals are in the woods and start rehersing the play
  • Puck watches them play and plays a prank on them
    • Puck gives Bottom a donkey head
    • That scares the rest of the mechanicals, and Bottom doesn't know why they're scared
    • The mechanicals, exept for Bottom, run in fright out of the woods
  • Bottom thinks it's a prank, so he "proves" he isn't scared by singing
  • Titania wakes up and sees Bottom with the donkey's head and falls in love with him, due to the love flower.
  • Titania tells her fairy servents to atend to Bottom and take care of him.

Scene 2

  • Puck returnes to where Oberon was and tells him what had happened with Titania
    • Oberon is amused by this and cheks wheather Puck anointed "the atheneans" eyes.
    • Puck reashures him that he took care of that
  • Demetrius and Hermia enter, arguing about what happened to Lysander, wheather Demetrius killed him or not.
  • Hermia leaves and Demetrius goes to sleep
  • Oberon gets mad at Puck for making a mistake and thingks it was one of his pranks
  • Oberon sends Puck to look for Helena
    • Puck returnes claiming Helena is coming and Lysander is coming to
  • Helena and Lysander enter, Helena telling Lysander to go back to Hermia, who Lycander now claimes he regrets every moment he spent with her
  • Demetrius wakes up, falling in love with Helena.
  • Helena thingks both Demetrius and Lysander want to make fun of her
  • Hermia enters and gets confused at why Lysander hates her so much
  • Cat fight between Hermia and Helena

Scene 2

  • Lysander and Demetrius decide to fight over Helena in another part of the woods
  • Helena and Hermia exit seperate ways
  • Oberon gets even mader at Puck and tels him to make shure Demetrius and Lysander don't hurt eachother and fall asleep and to do the same to Helena and Hermia
  • Puck sends fog into the woods and confuses Demetrius and Lysander where they intended to go to fight
  • All of the lovers go to sleep, while puck puts the love juice on Lysanders eyes so he falls in love with Hermia again.
