The Carbon Cycle
1) Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere
2) Photosynthesis occurs taking carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere (happens in plants)
3) Plants are eaten by the animals (feeding) and then carbon is released into the atmosphere
during respiration
4) Or, the decaying plants produce fossil fuels
5) The fossil fuels are burned and carbon is released into the atmosphere by combustion
