- Eyesaw to environment and very obtrusive to the area
- May anger natrualists
- Loss of plants and wildlife
- Dust may be carried by winds over fields and any nearby villages
- Quarry traffic causes congestion
- Heavy lorries cause damage to foundations of houses from the vibrations
- Noise pollution is created by heavy lorries and also by blasting of limestone rocks
