Labour changes to education

Advantages

Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) - Students from disadvantaged backgrounds able to go on to FE and HE. Breaks cycle of deprivation.
Education Action Zones (EAZs) - Raises standards. Deprived areas e.g. inner city, get more resources and support, so can provide a good education. Helps break cycle of deprivation.

Disadvantages

Education Maintence Allowance (EMA) - Many only stay on to get that money, do not work - holding back academic students.
Education Action Zones (EAZs) - Successful schools in wealthier areas do not get as much support - unfair? Decreases standards.

Evaluation

Labour are better than Conservative!
