Advantages

  • small business w/o HR Department agency can advertise + interview for you - saves time + money
  • use recruitment knowledge + expertise to offer business pre-screened selection of candidates
  • can provide temporary staff quickly - employee employed by agency so business doesn't have payroll responsibilities
  • most permanent placements will come w/ a guarantee offering you a specific amount of time for replacement - if employee doesn't work out

Disadvantages

  • may feel uncertain about choice since you did nit take responsibility for interviews
  • charge a fee - if successful in filling vacancy agency will receive commission from employer
  • temporary staff often leave quicker + will always be looking for somewhere more permanent

Evaluation

Individuals register with agency to try get work + agency tries to match its list with employer requirements - individual will be interviewed by agency, the potential employers or both.
