      • Manipulative Leader

          • He tries to make it sound as though he is looking out for the group - never physically involves himself.
        • Manipulates Leah through his use of silence - making her want his attention.

        • Quicky comes up with a disturbing plan twice. Plans the manslaughter of Adam

        • She is thinking about the immoral action of Killing Adam and keeping it a secret.
          • She still doesn't tell anyone. So is maybe not as good as she seems through this quote.
        • Only character who thinks about this immoral action in this way.
        • She seems to be a moral character but kills her Hamster 'Jerry' and goes into detail about it to Phil

          • Tried to go against what people said but failed - now he is utterly defeated.

          • Shows his emotions - this makes him weak to the group.

        • "She cut a first year's finger off"

            • Finally gets a position at the top of the group.
            • Uses it as an excuse to hurt people without consequences.
              • Similarly to the group and Adam
      • "It's quite exciting as well"
        • She found the situation with Adam as exciting.

      • Act as a Greek Chorus

      • Seem to find joy through what they did to Adam

        • constant mimicking - shows lack of individuality and interllect

        • His way of dealing with the guilt of what happened was to turn to God.

            • His dreams are ruined by what  the group has done - links to people in gangs struggling to get out?

        • Follows the leader
        • Always seems scared of the leader. Stays in his position by never getting in the way
    • Adam
      • Weakest character in the heirarchy.
        • "Adam, my name's, I've got a name, it's..."
          • His reappearance to the group is shocking
          • He is confused
            • 'Weak' characters i the heirarchy go insane
        • "In this dark"
          • Light and dark imagery - confused images in Adam's head - secrecy and openness? -the gangs guilt and crime?
      • "I found my place where I live"
        • He can't remember his home
        • Home is on the ground - hidden away - link to his position in groups hierarchy.
